The Digilalizing Balinese Script and Literature Workshop is conducted to celebrate Balinese Language Month at Panji Village, Buleleng, Bali. It is expected that through Balinese Language Month activities, awareness will grow of the importance of Balinese language and culture in the current modern era so that people will be more alert and willing to participate in continuing to maintain Balinese cultural heritage in the future. In this way, the Balinese language will remain stable and the role of the Balinese Language Education Study Program as a part of the Faculty of Languages and arts can be a center for language, arts, and culture studies. https://fbs.undiksha.ac.id/en/balinese-language-month-2024-fbs-realizes-downstream-village-development/
The workshop yielded significant outcomes in the realm of preserving and advancing the Balinese language and literature. Participants gained insights into leveraging digital technologies for the conservation and dissemination of Balinese script manuscripts, as well as enhancing access to Balinese literary works globally. The workshop also fostered discussions on innovative approaches to digitizing Balinese script and integrating it with modern platforms, thereby contributing to the digital heritage of Balinese culture and facilitating its wider dissemination and appreciation.
The lectures of the Balinese Language Education Study Program modified the semester syllabus inspired by the information gathered from the seminar (RPS_Balinese Script Computerization.docx). From the course, there are also some products created by the students that represent their comprehension of how to apply their knowledge in digitalizing Balinese manuscripts and literature.
